Houston is known for its big city living, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and hot Texas weather! There is always something to do around town and residents love the excitement of the city lifestyle.

There is entertainment for everyone here! For awesome live concerts, head to The Woodlands Pavilion about 27 miles North of downtown. Whichever your music style, you’re sure to have the opportunity to see one of your favorite bands in concert there! If theater is what interests you, check out the Theatre Under the Stars. Many popular plays are performed here, from The Little Mermaid to the Nutcracker. Buying a ticket to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in December is a must!

For sports fans, catching one of the games of the local teams like the Astros, Texans, or Rockets is a fun way to spend an evening. You’ll have an exciting time at any seat in the stadium or the various sports bars located all throughout the area such as Bombshells, Twin Peaks, Ojos Locos, Brewingz, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Minute Maid Park, which is located in downtown, is home of the Astros.  NRG Stadium, also located downtown, is a huge arena with a retractable roof which hosts the Houston Texans football games, legendary Texas rodeos, and concerts. If basketball is your sport, you’ll want to buy tickets to the Rockets playing at the Toyota center.

Local restaurants like Sambuca offer fine dining along with a jazzy club-like atmosphere. If you have a love for fondue, The Melting Pot is a fun experience that you shouldn’t miss! Brenners on the Bayou located near Memorial is an amazing steakhouse with a gorgeous view of Houston’s Buffalo bayou. It would be the perfect place for a date night. For a delicious breakfast, Tacos A Go-Go in the Heights has the best breakfast tacos around!

Location

The average commute to work is about 20-30 minutes depending on if you live within the inner loop or outer loop of I-610. The major highways are I-10, Highway 59, and I-45.
